Sundays at 10:00 AM: Rabbi Zari Sussman’s  Torah class.

On August 1st the Congregation was happy to welcome Rabbi Zari Sussman as the new Rabbi of the Temple.  We are fortunate to have her as our spiritual leader, and we believe that she will help to enrich the lives of many Jews in the Inland Empire. In Rabbi Zari’s words:

“Before entering rabbinical school, I worked as a computer engineer for fifteen years where I got a first hand experience of  the difficulty of  balancing religious traditions within a secular corporate environment.” She says: “Going to Rabbinical school moves me towards a life I … value and love, studying Judaica, teaching, and counseling people through life changing events. I’d like to work with a congregation. I’d like to create special bonds within a community, to counsel members through life cycle events.

It would be an honor to spearhead a child’s Jewish education, and watch them become active Jewish adults. Because of my background, I (can) excel at helping secular American Jews come closer to tradition, to educate adults and help them work traditions into their daily lives. I believe that if we have the strength to work through the difficulties,  the wisdom of Torah will immeasurably enrich our modern day lives.

I enjoy walking around cities, watching movies, listening to 80’s music, scented Shabbat candles, loose leaf teas, storytelling, and studying Talmud. I want to connect personally to my congregants, to get my congregants to connect to each other, and most importantly, form connections to Judaism and to God.”

We at Temple Sholom invite you to visit our Shul and meet with Rabbi Zari
