Sisterhood welcomes Rabbi Zari Sussman to our Temple family. We are very excited for this new chapter in Temple Sholom’s history.

Sisterhood’s annual Torah Fund Kick Off and Paid-Up Membership Luncheon will be held in the lovely home of Sandra Turkel, Sunday September 17 at 11:30am. The Torah Fund of Women’s League offers scholarships to Conservative Rabbis in Training, Cantors, educators and scholars in Rabbinical schools in Los Angeles, New York, Germany, Argentina and Israel. Information will be mailed soon with statements.

The Holy Days are upon us again. The month leading to the Holy Days is extremely busy for Sisterhood. We get together almost weekly to bake, polish the Torah silver, and prepare for the Break Fast. Join us after services for a bit of Challah and honey cake. A bag containing an apple and some honey will be available for each family after Erev Rosh Hashanah. Please join us for our annual Break Fast immediately after Yom Kippur Services. We are very grateful to our donor for sponsoring this event over the years. Thanks to everyone who has helped with these preparations.

A big Toda Rabbah for all those who have donated for our new tables. We will be first using them at the Break Fast on Saturday, September 30 immediately after Yom Kippur – the Break Fast will break in our new tables. The generous donations of many families have made this possible.

All are welcome at our board meetings. The next two will be on Sunday, September 3rd at 10 am and Sunday, October 1st at noon. The meetings are held in the Temple Library.

On a personal note, Howard and I would like to thank the members of the Temple who have offered advice and have donated the rollator and travel chair for member’s use. These have been a great help in creating a safe environment for Rachel after her accident.

L’Shanah Tovah
